REG nominated for 2017 International Emmy Awards

Awards Film TV

Written by Jimmy McGovern, REG follows a man on a journey of grief and defiance after his son Tom is one of six RMP’s murdered in Al Majar, Iraq. As Reg and wife Sally have their lives torn apart, questions begin to arise not only around the events that led to their son’s death but also the legitimacy of the Iraq war as a whole. Left with questions the New Labour government and Prime Minister Tony Blair refuse to answer, Reg decides to stand as an independent candidate in Blair’s Sedgefield constituency.

First aired in June 2016 on BBCOne, REG is directed by David Blair and stars Tim Roth, Anna Maxwell Martin, Ralph Brown, Elliot Tittensor, Kevin Doyle.

REG is the only UK nominee shortlisted in the ‘Best TV Movie/Mini Series’ category, and is up against French drama ‘Don’t Leave Me’, Brazilian drama ‘Alemão: Os Dois Lados do Complexo (Alemão : Both Sides of the Operation)’ and the Canada/Japan/Netherlands co-production ‘Tokyo Trial’.
