Kieran Hurley’s HEADS UP wins Best New Play at Critics’ Awards for Scottish Theatre

News

Congratulations to Kieran Hurley for winning Best New Play at this year’s CATS Awards for his one-man show HEADS UP.

HEADS UP, written and performed by Kieran, weaves a picture of a familiar city at the moment of its destruction, asking what would we do if we found ourselves at the end of our world as we know it.

HEADS UP won a Fringe First award in 2016 and will be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for one week this August. Ticket information can be found here.

“The combination of lyrical power and sensitive characterisation ensures that Kieran Hurley’s·Heads Up·goes beyond the rhetorical reflection on the end of times and becomes a bold example of the contemporary monologue. Heartfelt and intelligent, it is a worthy winner that is both brutal and compassionate.” Gareth Vile, The List

‘Superb storytelling theatre’ ★★★★ (Guardian). ‘Urgent, compelling, beautiful’ ★★★★ (Scotsman). ‘Excellent, hypnotic, apocalyptic show’ ★★★★ (Times).
