News

The BBC Two screen adaptation of Mike Barlett‘s Olivier-winning KING CHARLES III proved just as compelling to audiences as the original, with a nomination for Best Single Drama.

Elsewhere, ACKLEY BRIDGE, co-written and co-created by Ayub Khan Din, received a nomination for Best Drama Series. Vivienne Harvey’s episode of BBC One’s MOVING ON – EIGHTEEN – is up for Best Daytime Programme.

The redoubtable Sean Bean has been nominated for Best Actor for his starring role in Jimmy McGovern‘s BROKEN, the hard-hitting drama exploring the trials and tribulations of a Roman Catholic parish priest. McGovern won the 2013 Best Drama Writer BAFTA for the second series of THE ACCUSED.

The awards will be presented at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Tuesday 20 March 2018.
