Annalisa is a screenwriter, radio playwright and a Mum of two small children. She is also really quite blind (she has 5% vision). Earlier this year, she wrote and presented a piece of comedy journalism called ANNALISA IS AWKWARD about disability and awkwardness for BBC Radio 4 which was described as “delightful” by Miranda Sawyer and “brilliant” by Grayson Perry. She also performs stand up comedy, most notably at The Battersea Arts Centre.
Her first radio play, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH (starring Tom Hughes and Susan Lynch) was nominated for the 2016 Imison Award at the BBC Audio Awards. In 2019, she worked with Alison Steadman and Cariad Lloyd for her second BBC Afternoon Play, SICK, a ‘vom com’ produced by Sweet Talk Productions. Also this year, THE DEAD DAD SHOW, her radio monologue, was selected by BBC Writersroom and BBC Radio 3 for commission as part of their Music Monologues series.
Outside radio, she has had an original feature screenplay in development with Lionsgate UK and is developing her own podcast series with Loftus Media. Annalisa began her career as a producer and director of historical and current affairs documentaries. Credits include GELDOF ON MARRIAGE for Channel 4 and WORLD WAR ONE IN COLOUR with Kenneth Branagh.
