Benjamin Cleary’s short film STUTTERER won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film at the 88th Academy Awards.

Benjamin is an Irish filmmaker living between London and Dublin. In 2011 he completed an MA in screenwriting at the London Film School. Since then Benjamin has won many awards including an Oscar, an IFTA and a London Critic’s Circle Award. Another short film he wrote called Love Is A Sting is currently on the qualified long-list for the 2016 Academy Awards.

Further writing and directing work

Ben’s short film ‘Kindred’ was directed by YDA Cannes winner Stevie Russell, with whom he is now developing a feature film. Several of his short film scripts as a writer have won competitions and numerous projects have been picked up by film funding schemes. Ben has also written 7 episodes of a 35 part children’s series for RTÉ.
