Luke Owen


Luke is a writer for stage and screen who in 2013 was awarded the prestigious Papatango New Writing Prize for his play UNSCORCHED. The play debuted at the Finborough Theatre in October 2013, directed by Justin Audibert. Prior to that Luke graduated from the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia. He has also been a member of the Royal Court Theatre’s Young Writers Programme and Headlong Theatre’s Headstart Emerging Writers’ Group.

UNSCORCHED was recently performed as part of the Milan Playwriting Festival.

In television Luke is part of Writing Room for Pure Grass Films’ adaptation of Tom Grass’ novel SAWNEY, and was selected to take part in the BBC’s iPlayer Shorts Workshop.

Luke is currently working on the development of two new plays.
