Rachel Hirons


Rachel is currently adapting the bestselling novel A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas as a feature film for Tempo Productions, as well as writing the original television series SUGAR for Hat Trick Productions.

Rachel is Associate Producer to Bryan Elsley/Balloon Entertainment on KISS ME FIRST for Channel 4/Netflix and is writing an episode of the series.

Her first feature film, POWDER ROOM, produced by Damian Jones at DJ Films and starring Sheridan Smith, Jaime Winstone and Oona Chaplin, was adapted from her stageplay, WHEN WOMEN WEE, which ran at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011 and Soho Theatre in May 2012.

Rachel has written the screenplay of Emma Garcia’s debut novel NEVER GOOGLE HEARTBREAK for Shooting Script Films and is attached to direct. Her original screenplay CAPTURE is being produced by AND Films.

A GUIDE TO SECOND DATE SEX ran at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012, and Soho Theatre in March 2013. Rachel has adapted this play into a feature film for Starfield Productions.

VODKA DIARIES, an original television pilot, aired on BBC3 in August 2014 starring Aisling Bea, Cariad Lloyd and Rosamund Hanson.

Rachel directed a music video for BBC Introducing’s THE FUTURE DUB PROJECT in September 2014 and is keen to direct more of her own work.
