Ryan is currently directing FAUST I for Schauspielbühnen, Stuttgart. He will then begin work on BEFORE THE PARTY at Salisbury Playhouse (info can be found here).
Recently Ryan directed CINDERELLA at Salisbury Playhouse which was their most successful panto for over a decade. He also directed the SORCERER’S APPRENTICE musical workshop for Seabright Productions in March 2016 and THE LIFE for the English Theatre Frankfurt in November 2015.
Ryan directed THE HOUSE OF MIRROR AND HEARTS, a new musical which premiered at the Arcola Theatre in July 2015.
Ryan directed his new version of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER for Theatre Royal Bath which opened there in November 2014 before embarking on a UK tour in early 2015. The production originally ran at the English Theatre Frankfurt in 2014.
Ryan directed a new adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984 for the Schauspielbühnen, Stuttgart in 2015 which has since be nominated the Der Faust Theaterpreise for and also directed a production of SPRING AWAKENING in German and THE RULING CLASS for the English Theatre Frankfurt.
In 2012 Ryan directed the first stage adaptation of Louise Rennison’s ANGUS, THONGS AND EVEN MORE SNOGGING for West Yorkshire Playhouse/Michelou Productions.

As Associate and Assistant Director, Ryan has worked with Stephen Daldry, Fiona Laird, Marianne Elliot and Matthew Warchus.
