Sophie’s script BLOOD, a series with Company Pictures, was recently commissioned for BBC Northern Ireland. She is also currently writing on Season Two of THE LAST KINGDOM for Carnival/BBC2, as well as on Season Two of MEDICI for Big Light Productions/RAI, which includes working within a writers room run by executive producer Frank Spotnitz.
In addition, Sophie is developing two original ideas; DEVILHOOD with Big Talk and THE DESCENT, an original script with Company Pictures for ALL3MEDIA International. Sophie recently wrote HEXERS, an international co-production for Big Talk Productions/Imperative, and previously wrote an episode of MEDICI: MASTERS OF FLORENCE for Big Light Productions/RAI. She also wrote an episode of JEKYLL & HYDE for ITV Studios/ITV.
For CBBC, Sophie wrote episodes of WOLFBLOOD Series 4, having contributed two episodes and a game to the third series. Sophie has also contributed to the new series of DANGER MOUSE, as well as writing two episodes of HETTY FEATHER and an episode of THE DUMPING GROUND, both adapted from novels by Dame Jaqueline Wilson.
Before then Sophie wrote two episodes on new Irish long-running series RED ROCK, produced by Company Pictures and Element Pictures for TV3.
Sophie was selected as a One to Watch at Edinburgh International Television Festival 2014. She was one of 2013’s Broadcast Hotshots and was the recipient of the Peter Ustinov Scriptwriting Prize in 2012 (for her original television script SANCTIONED), which was presented to her at the International Emmy World Television Festival in New York. Sophie was a BBC Production Trainee for 18 months from 2011. In 2010, Sophie was joint winner of the BBC Writersroom All Mixed Up sitcom competition with her script THE GOD COMMITTEE, which was subsequently optioned by BBC Comedy.
