A 45’00” opera based on Michael Palin’s black comedy, ‘The Weekend.’
Planned as a companion piece to Leonard Bernstein’s ‘Trouble in Tahiti.

LAST MAN STANDING (BBC Symphony Orchestra) 2018
Composer: Cheryl Frances Hoad
An original song cycle for Baritone Marcus Farnsworth, inspired by WW1 writings and personal testimonies.
Commissioned as part of Armistice Centenary Events.
World Premiere at Barbican Hall 30th November 2018, in a programme with Vaughn Williams’s 4th Symphony, inspired by his wartime Medical Corps experiences, and Arnold Bax’s 1917 ‘November Woods’.
