Congratulations to Mark Redd, Jonathan Butterell and Tom MacRae who have all been nominated for BIFAs!

Mark Redd has been nominated for Best Debut Screenwriter for his screenplay THE TOLL, which has also just been longlisted for a BIFA Discovery Award!

Produced by Mark Hopkins for Western Edge Pictures, through Ffilm Cymru Wales’ Cinematic scheme, The Toll premiered at Glasgow Film Festival described as “mixing the dark comedy of the Coen Brothers with the antihero of Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns… a madcap chain of events that lead to a showdown of epic proportions”.

Matt is currently writing the second film – THE LIFE AND DEATH OF DANIEL DEE – in a planned trilogy, also funded by Ffilm Cymru. He is also working on an original television commission for Bad Wolf and has a series in development with Who’s on First and Severn Screen.

Jonathan Butterell and Tom MacRae have been nominated for their work on EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE!

EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE which is out on Amazon Prime has proved a huge success off the back of the award winning theatre production! Audiences simply cannot get enough of this infectiously enjoyable musical with critics describing it as “a multicoloured pride parade of joy”

Jonathan Butterell is a stage director and choreographer who has worked in London, New York and around the world. He received his nomination for directing the movie version of the award-winning musical EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE for Amazon that was released in September 2021.

Tom MacRae is a multi-award winning screenwriter, playwright, producer, author and lyricist. He is nominated for best debut screenwriter for his work alongside Dan and Jonathan together to bring Jamie’s story to the big screen!
