Inua Ellams’ BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES Nominated for Best Play at the Writers’ Guild Awards

Congratulations to Inua Ellams whose hit play, BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES, has been nominated for the Best Play accolade at the 2018 Writers’ Guild Awards.

Ellams’ dynamic play leaps from a barber shop in Peckham to Johannesburg, Harare, Kampala, Lagos and Accra seamlessly weaving together these stories from around the globe forging a rich tapestry of modern masculinity.

BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES returned to the National in November, re-opening to rave reviews following a run at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in the summer.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Royal College of Physicians in central London on Monday 15th January 2018.
