MATILDA: THE MUSICAL proved a big winner of the night. Matthew Warchus’ production, also featuring the work of Simon Baker and Lotte Wakeham, won Best New Musical, Best Set Design, Best Choreographer and Best Newcomer (Lyrist Tim Minchin). Further congratulations to Matthew Warchus for his production of GHOST: THE MUSICAL, which picked up Best Actor in a Musical (Richard Fleeshman), Best Set Design & Best Lighting Design.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Josie Rourke, was recognized as Best Shakespearean Production and Theatre Event of the Year. WAR HORSE won Best West End Show (written by Nick Stafford). Other winners included Jeremy Sams’ THE WIZARD OF OZ, for Best Musical Revival and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical (Hannah Waddingham).
