Robin Stevens to write Siobhan Dowd sequel

The sequel to The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd is to be written by Robin Stevens, author of Murder Most Unladylike.

The Guggenheim Mystery will feature the original stars of The London Eye Mystery. We will, once again, meet distinctive narrator Ted – whose brain, as he would explain, works on its own unique operating system – and his sister Kat, in a new adventure set in New York. Siobhan Dowd came up with the title before her death, though the story itself will be a new creation by Robin Stevens. A portion of the royalties from the book will be donated to the Siobhan Dowd Trust which works to give young people the opportunity to read and enjoy literature.

Robin will also write a new introduction to The London Eye Mystery, which will be published later this year.

The London Eye Mystery was first published in June 2007, shortly before Siobhan Dowd’s death on 21st August that year. It was published to great critical acclaim, selling over 250,000 copies and winning a number of awards, including the Children’s Books Ireland Bisto Book of the Year Award, the NASEN Children’s Book Award and the TES Special Educational Needs Children’s Book award.

The Guggenheim Mystery will be published by Penguin Random House in August 2017.
