Children's Books' Submissions

We are currently accepting submissions. Please read the below guidelines and information on how to submit carefully before sending us your submission.

What are we looking for?

For authors: We are interested in submissions from authors writing brilliant stories for children and young adults. We are always on the lookout for fresh, thoughtful, funny voices that capture the zeitgeist, tell us an untold story – or a tale as old as time through a new lens. We are currently particularly on the lookout for:

Stories about witches
Teen romance or rom coms with series potential
Sci-Fi and Fantasy middle-grade and YA
Horror and supernatural middle-grade and YA
Romantasy YA
Books for boys across all ages
Compelling contemporary stories

For illustrators: We are seeking illustrators with distinctive commercial styles, including graphic novelists.

When it comes to picture books and graphic novels, we are currently only looking at work by author/illustrators (rather than text only submissions).

Crucially, we are looking for clients who are available to promote their work, whether online or at events, and have an awareness of what it means to be an author, illustrator or both in today’s world with all the demands and complications that brings.

We are eager to see work from underrepresented creatives.

How to Submit

To help us sort through the high volume of submissions we receive, we kindly ask you to submit using the below format.

Please send all submissions to our dedicated inbox [email protected] only. Please do not send submissions to Jessica’s email address directly or copy her into your submission. We do not accept submissions by post!

For Authors: Please submit a full manuscript as a Word doc or PDF attached to your email (manuscripts shared via a download link will not be opened). Please note we do not accept partial manuscripts.

Email Subject: [Age and Genre]_[TITLE]_[Your Name]

In your email please include:

Your pitch – 250 words max with summary of the plot, characters and any comps.
Total word count of your manuscript
A short bio about yourself including any relevant prizes, courses, or organisations you’re a part of
Links to your social media or website if you use them

For Illustrators: Please share your portfolio as a PDF or JPEG images attached to your email. If you have a wesbite portfolio, please include a link in the body of your email. If you are an author/illustrator, please feel free to attach a Word doc or PDF of your text as well as your illustrations.

In your email please include:

A short bio about yourself including any relevant prizes, courses or organisations you’re a part of
Links to your social media or website if you use them
If you’re an author/illustrator, please include a brief pitch about your text, including any comps.

Due to the amount of submissions we receive, we unfortunately cannot respond to everyone. If you receive an offer of publication or representation from another agency, please let us know. Otherwise, we kindly ask that you do not chase. If you have not heard from us after 12 weeks, please assume it’s a no.
