Voice cast announced for ETHEL & ERNEST

Jim Broadbent will star alongside Brenda Blethyn in the forthcoming adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ graphic novel Ethel and Ernest.

Luke Treadaway who won an Olivier for his performance on stage in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time will star, voicing Raymond, and the cast is completed with Virginia McKenna, June Brown, Pam Ferris, Simon Day and Roger Allam. Broadbent and Blethyn will provide the voices for the title roles.

Lupus Films, the production company behind The Snowman and the Snowdog, will be creating the film using hand drawn animation, to be shown on the BBC in 2016. The film is directed by Roger Mainwood (The Snowman, The Snowman and the Snowdog) and the animation director is Peter Dodd who previously worked on The Illusionist.
