Following Press Night, Marina Carr‘s adaptation of Lorca’s Blood Wedding directed by Yaël Farber, has received a great deal of praise and four stars from The Guardian and The Times.
Writing for The Guardian, Arifa Akbar praises the ‘visceral production’ for ‘retaining all the potency of Lorca’s play’. In the Financial Times, Alice Saville praises Carr’s play for its ‘stylised, poetic approach exerting a magic of its own, unfaltering as moonlight, its promise realised in a final blood sacrifice.
