FREE REIN picks up nominations for Best Children’s Programme at this year’s Broadcast Awards and NAACP Image Awards

Congratulations to Anna McCleery whose original show, which she co-created with Vicki Lutas, was nominated for the Best Children’s Programme Award at this year’s Broadcast awards and NAACP Image awards.

Free Rein follows Zoe (Jaylen Barron), a 15-year-old American who visits her British grandfather for the summer and develops a strong bond with one of the horses at the local stable.

The 10-part series, produced by Lime Pictures for Netflix, is the only non-BBC show to make the Broadcast shortlist. It is also one of the few British entries to make the NAACP Image nominations list.

The NAACP Image Awards is the preeminent multicultural awards show celebrating the accomplishments of individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

Jonathan Ross returns to host the Broadcast Awards, which will be held in London on 7th February 2018, while Anthony Anderson will present the NAACPs from LA on 15th January.

Anna has previously written for Secret Life of Boys for CBBC , The Cut for BBC Two and Hollyoaks for Channel 4. Anna has projects in active development with Channel 4, Newman Street and CBBC.
