News

Congratulations to everyone who submitted a play as part of the RSCs new playwrighting project: 37 Plays. Included amongst the final chosen plays is Beltane by Agency Client Billie Collins. Beltane tells the story in which a sprite befriends a teenager as the future of the woods hangs in the balance.

The RSC received more than 2,000 entries which were read by their national team of 28 readers over a period of 15 weeks.

RSC Acting Artistic Director Erica Whyman chaired the judging panel made up of: Unicorn Theatre Associate Director Rachel Bagshaw, actor and RSC Associate Artist Ray Fearon, theatre critic and The Stage Associate Editor Lyn Gardner, best-selling author Sharna Jackson, actor and 2018 Ian Charleson Award-winner Bally Gill, award-winning playwrights Mark Ravenhill and Juliet Gilkes Romero, and actor/writer and RSC Associate Artist David Threlfall. They are joined by Harry and Ella from the RSC’s Youth Advisory Board, established in 2019 to reflect the diverse voices of young people from across the UK.
