Simon Allen’s new film CURS>R to launch at Cannes with star Cast

News

Shooting has recently wrapped on high concept, horror thriller CURS>R. Written by Agency client Simon Allen (show-runner of the recent BBC America hit THE WATCH), the film will star SEX EDUCATION star Asa Butterfiled, newcomer Iola Evans, Eddie Marsan and genre royalty Robert England (Freddy Krueger in NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) and will launched at the Cannes virtual marketplace later this month.

The feature is the directorial debut of UK filmmaker Toby Meakins.

The story will follow Iola Evans as broke student who, in pursuit of an unclaimed $100,000 prize, plays an obscure 1980s survival computer game. After a series of unexpectedly terrifying moments, she soon realises she’s no longer playing for the money, but for her own life.

UK-based production and finance company Anton is overseeing world sales and is introducing the project to buyers at the Cannes virtual market in association with Endeavor Content, which is co-representing the US.

Producers are Anton’s Sebastien Raybaud and John Zois alongside Stigma Films’ Matthew James Wilkinson.

Shot on location in London, the film participated in the UK government’s film and TV production restart scheme.
