A new pop-musical, one song in eight chapters, a thoroughly modern take on the seven deadly sins, with music by Paul Smith of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South and book by Ché Walker.


DIE WALKURE: THE MADNESS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY PLAN: Manchester International Festival; Bridgewater Hall – 15 – 16 July 2011

Directed by Neil Bartlett, Sir Mark Elder leads the Hallé in a guide to Richard Wagner’s revolutionary reinvention of the musical language of opera. This will be an illuminating experience for Wagner afficionados and newcomers alike.
