Adesola Akerele is a writer and digital content creator who grew up in Hertfordshire.
Adesola currently has a scripted comedy series under option with Fudge Park Productions. She is also participating in a Presenter and Content Creator artists residency at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, where she is set to produce a documentary on navigating adulthood in the digital age. She is also in the process of developing a TV & Film review fusion podcast.
She studied BA English Literature at the University of Warwick and landed a job as a non-scripted development intern for Endemolshine UK soon after graduating. She has developed formats and created games for shows such as Richard Osman’s HOUSE OF GAMES.
In 2019 she was selected as part of Creative England’s ShortFLIX scheme where she wrote and developed a comedy-drama short film NOT LIKE THAT. The story follows the relationship between a pushy Nigerian mother and her creative daughter.
Aside from this, Adesola creates a series of content online. In 2019, she produced and directed her most recent web series NAVIGATE – a talk show that discusses the struggles of adulting in the twenty-first century. It received a series of positive reviews across the board and has been featured on BBC Radio London, Black Beauty and Hair Magazine, alongside being recognised by The Department of Media, Culture and Sport.
