Alexandra is a playwright from London.

Plays include THE TYLER SISTERS and THE EMPTY QUARTER (Hampstead Theatre); an adaptation of Kate Summerscale’s THE SUSPICIONS OF MR WHICHER (Watermill Theatre); DESCENT (Audible Originals); NEVER VERA BLUE (Futures Theatre); an adaptation of Kavita Puri’s Partition Voices, SILENCE (co-writer, Donmar Warehouse/Tara Theatre); THE INITIATE and THE HUMAN EAR (Paines Plough); AGES (Old Vic New Voices); a translation of Manfred Karge’s MAN TO MAN (Wales Millennium Centre); MERIT (Plymouth Drum); an adaptation of Jung Chang’s WILD SWANS (Young Vic/American Repertory Theater); TWELVE YEARS (BBC Radio 4); UNBROKEN (Gate Theatre) and THE ELEVENTH CAPITAL (Royal Court Theatre).

Short plays include ARIADNE ON THE BEACH (Unicorn Theatre); INVITATION INTERRUPTED (Donmar); THE DRIVING RAGE (Paines Plough/National Trust); POPE’S GROTTO (Paines Plough) and MY NAME IS TANIA HEAD (Headlong).

Alexandra is a past winner of the George Devine Award and has been a Playwright-in-Residence at Paines Plough. She holds a PhD from University of Roehampton and teaches playwriting and theatre, currently for NYU in London.

Her plays are published by Nick Hern Books. THE ELEVENTH CAPITAL is published by Théâtrales and THE HUMAN EAR is now available in French, both translated by Sarah Vermande.
