Born and brought up in North Wales, Deborah joined the BBC first as a script editor, and then drama producer. Her credits include setting up and producing WAKING THE DEAD; originating and producing two series of THE MRS BRADLEY MYSTERIES, starring Diana Rigg, and MAGNIFICENT 7, starring Helena Bonham Carter. She also produced two international films written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff in association with BBC, Talkback and HBO. CAPTURING MARY, starring Maggie Smith, David Walliams and Ruth Wilson for BBC2 and JOE’S PALACE, starring Michael Gambon, Rebecca Hall, Kelly Reilly and Rupert Penry Jones for BBC1.

As a writer, she is working on several original projects, including TRADED, and RUNAWAY. Her series pilot INHERITANCE is currently in development with Ie Ie Productions, where she is the lead writer and gained experience running a writer’s room.

Her short film HIRAETH, was produced for BBC Wales/IMS Productions and selected as part of It’s My Shout. She has also developed a feature screenplay, BLITHE COWARD, with Rainmark Films, and drama series KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES, with Lovely Day Productions. Deborah has also written for BBC’s long-running series CASUALTY.
