Declan Feenan

Declan Feenan was born in Newry, Co. Down in 1980.  He studied English and Philosophy at Queen’s University, Belfast.  He lives in London.

Declan is currently under commission to The Bush Theatre in London, The Abbey Theatre in Dublin and Prime Cut Productions in Belfast.

He was on attachment at the National Theatre Studio in 2007 and his play ST PETERSBURG was the centre piece to The Bush Theatre’s Broken Space Season in October 2008 and was nominated for the Meyer Whitworth Award 2009.

LIMBO was performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and subsequently toured to York Theatre Royal, The Mercury Theatre, Colchester and The Arcola Theatre, London.  LOUGH was performed at the Edinburgh Festival in the summer of 2008 and then ran at York Theatre Royal. Both were produced by Real Circumstance Theatre Co. A collection of Declan’s plays are published by Nick Hern.

Declan’s television credits are 99,100, an original film, part of Coming Up 2007 – for IWC Media/Channel 4, LAST MAN HANGING, a drama documentary for BBC Northern Ireland in 2008 and COME ON!, an original teen television series for Holywood Productions, Belfast in 2009/10.
