Erica Whyman

About Erica Whyman

Born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Erica Whyman is an English theatre director who who studied theatre with Philippe Gaulier in Paris and then at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She was Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre and of Southwark Playhouse before joining Northern Stage as Chief Executive in 2005. She became deputy artistic director at the Royal Shakespeare Company in January 2013 and acting artistic director of the RSC in September 2021.
