Fernando Garrido is a Brazilian screenwriter, producer and editor.
Fernando co-wrote ALBATROZ with Bráulio Mantovani which was released in Brazil in March 2019, directed by Daniel Augusto. The film follows a photographer who witnesses a terrorist attack and photographs the event. Though these make him world famous, he comes under immense criticism for benefiting from such an event, rather than trying to stop it. Albatroz is currently playing on the international festival circuit.
Fernando’s new series Cangaço Novo/New Bandits for Amazon Prime was released on 18th August 2023, for which he was the lead writer.
Adrift and desperately needing money to pay for his ailing adoptive father’s care, Ubaldo, a bank clerk who’s unable to remember his childhood, receives an inheritance that will change his destiny for good. He goes to Cratará, in the heart of the northwest desert, where he’ll become the leader of a pack of ruthless bandits, fulfilling the legacy of his biological father – a mythical cangaceiro.
He was a member of the writer’s room on TV Globo’s THE GOLD HUNT, a crime-drama series created by Bráulio Mantovani (CITY OF GOD) and Carolina Kotscho.
