Grace is a Glasgow-based writer working across TV, theatre and audio drama. She has just returned from maternity leave following the birth of her daughter.
Grace was one of eight recipients of the inaugural year of the High-end Television Levy Writers’ Bursary Scheme under the mentorship of Kay Mellor (2018-2019). In the same year, she was also selected to be one of the BBC Writersroom’s first Scottish Voices.
Her episode of BBC Three’s The Break, Gloss (2018), was nominated for a Broadcast Digital Award in the Short Form Drama category (2019). She has recently had two audio dramas released by Big Finish – Iceberg, a full length, full cast Torchwood drama starring Burn Gorman, and These Stolen Hours, a 30 minute Doctor Who dramatised reading (both 2020). She has completed two BBC Radio commissions including a five minute monologue, After Exile, for Radio 3 starring Julie Hesmondhalgh (2017).
She had her first professional stage credit in 2015 with How to Cheat… and Be a Winner! At Cambridge Junction Theatre, and since then has had extracts from her plays performed at various paid events at Glasgow’s Tron Theatre and London’s Jermyn Street Theatre. She was selected to be one of ten writers on BBC Writersroom Scotland’s first ever writing retreat aimed at generating ideas for children’s drama, and was a member of the Scottish Book Trust’s highly competitive BBC Radio Lab.
