    About Hanif Kureishi

Hanif Kureishi is a British-Pakistani screenwriter, playwright, and novelist; his notable works include novels and screen adaptations of MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE and THE BUDDHA OF SUBURBIA.

Hanif gained widespread media attention in January 2023, following a tragic accident he had when he collapsed in December 2022. Following his multi-limb paralysis as a result of the accident, Hanif wrote, via dictation, a series of articles describing his life after the accident. His dispatches are available to read on his website, and are being published into a memoir titled SHATTERED which will be released later in the year.
