Paul Herbert (composer) and Ryan McBryde (book and lyrics) are writing partners creating new musical theatre. Both grew up on farms – Herbert in Suffolk and McBryde in Yorkshire – and this shared rural upbringing became an unexpected foundation for their friendship and creative collaboration. They first met while working as associates for the musical development company Perfect Pitch. After collaborating on a new version of the hit musical Saturday Night Fever, Paul and Ryan began developing their own work together. Their projects include Lost Soul’s Club and Hangman, combining bold storytelling with distinctive music and a contemporary theatrical voice.
