Jenni was born and educated in Scotland before venturing south to gain a BA (Hons) in English, French and Italian from Durham University. She then hung about in the North East a bit longer in order to gain an MA in Scriptwriting from Newcastle University. She started writing and performing sketch comedy whilst at Durham, then took up stand up during her MA and spent three years performing the two around the UK and at the Edinburgh Fringe.
