About Jonathan Kent

Jonathan Kent has been nominated for several awards, including Best Director at the Olivier Awards for “Gypsy,” Best Direction of a Play at the Tony Awards for “Long Day’s Journey Into Night,” Outstanding Director – Play at the Drama Desk Awards for “Richard II,” Theatrical Achievement at the Evening Standard Awards, Outstanding Director – Play at the Drama Desk Awards for “Medea,” and Performance of the Year by an Actor in a Supporting Role at the Olivier Awards for “The Rehearsal.” Between 1990 and 2002 Jonathan was joint Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre, which he founded as a full-time producing theatre. He was made CBE for services to theatre in 2015.
