Joy C. Mitchell is a London-based, American TV drama writer from Los Angeles, California, best known for her work writing and producing season one of the award-winning Netflix drama series BRIDGERTON. She started her career as a music journalist, travel blogger, and content writer before moving into screenwriting. As an international creative, she has lived between L.A., Berlin, Lisbon, and London for the past decade. She was a writer on the Netflix fantasy series “The Letter for the King” and Amazon’s “Deutschland 86,” the second season of the Emmy award-winning
international spy drama series “Deutschland 83.” She was the showrunner of a BBC writers’ room for the adaptation of the best-selling novel The Dark Lady by Akala. Previously, she sold pilots and developed drama series with Apple, Freeform, Gaumont (UK), Lionsgate, and CBS Studios.

In addition to writing television, her journalism has been published in Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, and Teen Vogue among other publications. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College and graduated with honors in Print Journalism from the Annenberg School at USC.
