Juliet took a mixed degree in biological natural sciences and history of art – so she had to be a writer! An award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author, she has worked for BBC television and radio, written for all the ‘broadsheet’ national newspapers (as well as various magazines and websites), and authored two non-fiction books for adults. She has also travelled in over 50 countries (and intends to make it more!).
Juliet’s first children’s book, Amazing Minotaur (a retelling of the legend with a real maze and illustrations inspired by Minoan art) was published by Frances Lincoln and selected for the Summer Reading Challenge. Her next, Travels with My Granny (original fiction) was illustrated by Christopher Corr and published by Otter-Barry Books. It has since also been published in French (by Gallimard) and in Dutch (by Christofoor).
She is currently writing about feet, sheep and confidence found in unlikely places.
Juliet is available to talk to kids about travel (in body and in mind), dementia, and and, of course, writing – both fact and fiction.
