Roy Clarke OBE is an English comedy writer best known for creating the sitcoms KEEPING UP APPEARANCES, OPEN ALL HOURS, and its sequel series STILL OPEN ALL HOURS. He also created and wrote the longest-running series on UK television: LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE, which ran for 29 series from 1973 to 2008.
