Russell has worked consistently across film, television and commercials for over 15 years. Starting life as a storyboard artist working with incredible directors and academy award-winning cinematographers, Russell wrote and directed his first film in 2009 and never looked back. He has 2 theatrically released feature films, premiering at the BFI London Film Festival and being awarded New York Times critics pick, several award-winning shorts and over 300 commercials for major global brands as director.

Russell has a passion for driving new narratives and fresh ways of storytelling, audience analysis and collaborating with actors. Originally from North Wales, he is based in London and has directed work across the globe, including locations such as Japan, China, Australia, South America, North America and all across Europe.

Russell has several new projects in development, with a focus on suspense, atmospheric thrillers and the horror genre. PAGAN, currently in development, is a folk horror and direct follow-up to 2022’s SHEPHERD.
