Sam is a London-based writer and producer.

Sam’s first writing experience was joining Newcastle’s Live Theatre Writers Group for emerging playwrights. Her passion for drama lead her to move to London and work in the film industry, before going freelance to focus on her own projects as a writer and producer. Sam’s co-written original TV drama Our World is currently in development with Mother Pictures, and she had her first script shot in 2021 when she wrote the ‘teaser’ for upcoming drama Angels n Bandits’.

Sam produced short film Acrimonious, which played at London Short Film Festival and BFI Flare, as well as being nominated for the UK’s premier LGBT+ award the Iris Prize. The film will be broadcast on Film4 in December 2021 and available to watch on All4 thereafter. She was Associate Producer for the BFI funded short film Martha and English National Ballet’s Cinderella Games. Upcoming projects include acting as Associate Producer for Champions, a feature film currently in development with the BFI’s Early Stage Development Funding, and For People In Trouble, Alex Lawther’s debut short film as a writer/director.

In theatre, Sam produced original play Cassie and the Lights, which premiered at the Vault Festival in 2020 and performed a month run at the Adelaide Fringe, where it won the ‘Best Theatre’ Fringe Award. The play will return to the UK at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival.
