Sam is a London-based writer, director and producer. She is a BAFTA Connect member and an alumni of the Newcastle Live Theatre Writer’s Group.

In 2023, Sam wrote short film ‘Do You Have Kids?’ which, with the support of Kodak, was shot on film in Glasgow as one of the Yarns competition finalists. Other previous produced writing includes a short film commission for Whizz Kid/eOne ‘Angels n’ Bandits’.

Also in 2023, Sam created the concept for and directed ‘The Full Spectrum of Nag’, a one minute micro-short film produced as part a scheme run by BAFTA Connect creatives.

Sam’s previous work as a producer includes short film ‘For people in trouble’, which was written/directed by Alex Lawther and executive produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The film was nominated as 2023’s ‘Short Film of the Year’ by the London Critics Circle. The film premiered at Tribeca, New York, and has screened at several BAFTA, BIFA and Oscar qualifying festivals since. In 2020 Sam produced ‘Acrimonious’, a queer comedy drama short which was nominated for the Iris Prize (the UK’s premier LGBT+ prize) and screened on Channel 4. She also produced theatre play ‘Cassie and the Lights’, which ran at Vaults Festival London and Adelaide Fringe before transferring to New York as part of ‘Brits off Broadway’ (59E59 Theatre) in 2023.
