Born and raised in Glasgow, VIVIENNE HARVEY is an RTS and Writers Guild Award winning writer. She has worked with Jimmy McGovern, Paul Abbott, Moira Buffini, Danny Brocklehurst, Frank Spotnitz and Tony Schumacher and in writers rooms for Hulu, Apple, Sky, CTV and the BBC.
Alumni of the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course; Vivienne’s first TV commission, single drama EIGHTEEN – for BBC One Series MOVING ON – was Critics’ Choice in the Sunday Times, deemed ‘A timely depiction of immigration, bureaucracy and humanity’ in the Radio Times, ‘Heart-rending stuff’ by The Times and won a Royal Television Society Award. She wrote the final two episodes of BBC crime serial STONE, winner of the Writers Guild Award for Best Radio Drama. Her first single for Radio 4, PLAYING DEAD, inspired by a visit to Iraq and the legacy of Kurdistan, was shortlisted for the Tinniswood Award.
She was also selected for the MediaXchange/Screenskills Advanced TV Drama Writing Initiative (London & Los Angeles).
Vivienne has recently written on a new BBC crime drama due for release 2027 and completed the feature screenplay for THE MIGRANT for Oscar-nominated French studio Xilam. She currently has projects in development with Amazon Studios & Monumental Television, Avalon, West Road Pictures, Clapperboard, Ringside Studios & Anagram (Sweden).
