RAGDOLL Premieres: Katherine Moar’s Second Play Earns Praise

Ragdoll had its world premiere last night (14 October 2025) at Jermyn Street Theatre, following previews from 9 October.

The play is Moar’s second, returning to the venue where her debut Farm Hall began. Ragdoll is inspired by the real‑life trial of Patty Hearst; it spans two timelines, 1978 and 2017, and explores themes of fame, scandal, agency, and the court of public opinion.

The cast includes Nathaniel Parker as Robert, Abigail Cruttenden as Holly, with Ben Lamb and Katie Matsell playing the younger versions of the lawyer and heiress respectively.

The creative team features Josh Seymour as director, set designer Ceci Calf, costume designer Tom Paris, lighting by Jamie Platt, sound design by Lex Kosanke, movement direction by Anjali Mehra, with dialect and voice coaching by Andrea Fudge and Tess Dignan.

Reviews since opening have been positive. Evening Standard described the play as “short, snappy and hugely enjoyable,” noting its sharp ideas around infamy, power and privilege that don’t settle for simple answers.
