RED VELVET by Lolita Chakrabarti on at the Garrick Theatre in the New Year!

The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company has announced the inclusion of Lolita Chakrabarti’s award-winning RED VELVET in its inaugural season: the Tricycle Theatre production will play at Garrick Theatre from 23rd January – 27th February 2016 .

 

Set in 1833, RED VELVET tells the story of a young black American actor who takes on the role of Othello in the midst of the revolution to abolish slavery.  The production is directed by Indhu Rubasingham and Adrian Lester reprises his role as Ira Aldridge.
