THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY: The Abbey Theatre – PN Wednesday 3rd Oct

Theatre

This new staging of Oscar Wilde’s black-hearted masterpiece brings literature’s most dangerous anti-hero back to contemporary theatrical life. Adapted and directed by Neil Bartlett in his trademark visual, flamboyant style it is a tale of a young man’s uncanny ability to remain both young and beautiful while descending into a life of heartless debauchery. Wilde’s scandalous best-seller of 1891 was one of the most damning pieces of evidence used against him in the trial that brought about his downfall.
