THE DARKEST PART OF THE NIGHT, the latest play from Zodwa Nyoni has opened to rave reviews at The Kiln Theatre. The production, directed by Nancy Medina, has received four-stars from The Stage, The Times, WhatsOnStage, and LondonTheatre1.

Time Out described the production as a “Heartfelt epic. A necessary piece of theatre”, while Arifa Akbar from the Guardian described the piece as a “A powerful portrayal of Autism and prejudice”.

The play follows siblings Shirley and Dwight as they remember their upbringing in 1980s Chapeltown Leeds differently. In the height of racial discrimination, police brutality and poverty, the struggle for survival ripped through their family. It explores the complexities and beauty of what it really means to care for one another.

The production runs until 13th August and tickets are available here.
