Channel 4 has today released the first look at Screw, a 6×60โ€™ drama from STV Studios, by Agency client and BAFTA nominated writer Rob Williams.

As the channel has announced, Rob’s incredible drama “will follow the guards of C Wing in a busy menโ€™s prison, a place thatโ€™s bursting at the seams with humour, emotional high stakes and danger for prisoners and officers alike. This is life in prison as never before seen on British television”.

The series was based on Rob’s own experiences working and volunteering in prisons and promises to be an emotional rollercoaster.

Bringing his superbly written drama to life is a top class cast of British talent, including Nina Sosanya as Leigh, a woman who has devoted her entire adult life to this prison and its population but with hidden secrets, and Jamie-Lee Oโ€™Donnell as Rosie, a 21 year old trainee officer experiencing this hostile environment for the first time. Faraz Ayub, Stephen Wright, Ron Donachie and Laura Checkley support.

Screw is an STV Studios production for Channel 4 with Rob Williams acting as Creator, Lead Writer and Executive Producer, with Karla Crome and Roanne Bardsley completing the writing team.

It was commissioned by Caroline Hollick, Channel 4 Head of Drama, and overseen by Gemma Boswell, Channel 4 Commissioning Editor Tom Vaughan and Jordan Hogg and directing. Sarah Brown is Executive Producer for STV Studios and Brian Kaczynski, Producer. Banijay Rights will manage global distribution for the series.

Screw is coming to Channel 4 and All 4 in early 2022.
