Campbell Books, an imprint of Macmillan, are set to publish a new novelty series for early years, called PUPPY PAWS, from bestselling author and illustrator Lydia Monks.
The books are aimed at children aged two to four, and is described as ‘a fresh, innovative board book format, consisting of 12 pages and six novelty mechanisms including choosing pointers, wheels, double flaps and a slider puzzle finale’.
Fiona Macmillan, Colour Publisher at Campbell, said: “With this innovative concept, Campbell meets the demand for a core early learning series by combining rich storytelling with active participation. The interactive format perfectly encourages preschoolers to develop problem solving skills through the process of play. We are overjoyed to see Lydia bring her signature magic to our list.”
Lydia has added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with the wonderful team at Campbell Books again on this brand-new adventure. Creating the Puppy Paws series has been a joy; I wanted to create characters that little ones will instantly connect with. I can’t wait for young children and their parents to meet Toodles, Zu-Zu, Tot, Dilly, and Dee!”
As announced in trade press Book Brunch, the series will launch with four titles: TOODLES GETS DRESS, ZU-ZU BAKES A CAKE, DILLY AND DEE AT THE PARK and TOT TIDIES UP. They are due to publish across February and August 2027 and February 2028.
