Natasha Gordon Adapts Mr Loverman for the National Theatre’s 2027 Season

We are delighted to announce that Natasha Gordon will adapt Bernardine Evaristo’s acclaimed novel Mr Loverman for the stage, as part of the National Theatre’s newly announced 2027 season.

A funny, tender and deeply moving story about love, desire, family and identity, Mr Loverman follows Barrington Jedidiah Walker, a 74 year old Antiguan Londoner who has spent decades keeping a life changing secret. As the truth about his life begins to emerge, Barrington is forced to confront what it means to live honestly, and the impact that truth can have on those closest to him.

Natasha’s adaptation will be directed by Paulette Randall, with Gary Beadle, Jo Martin and Danny Sapani leading the cast.

The production will play at the Lyttelton Theatre, National Theatre, 25 February to 17 April 2027

Public booking opens 24 September 2026.
