We are delighted to share that Natasha Gordon’s acclaimed play Nine Night will return to the London stage as part of the Kiln Theatre’s 2026/27 season.
Directed by Amit Sharma, this new production will run from 12 November to 19 December 2026, introducing a new generation of audiences to one of the most significant British plays of recent years.

A moving and often hilarious exploration of family, grief and identity, Nine Night centres on a British-Jamaican family gathering to observe the traditional nine-night wake following the death of their matriarch. Over nine days of remembrance, celebration and reflection, tensions emerge, secrets are revealed, and generations confront what it means to honour both family and heritage.
Since its premiere at the National Theatre in 2018, Nine Night has received widespread critical acclaim and made theatre history when Natasha Gordon became the first Black British female playwright to have a play staged in the West End. The production went on to earn multiple award nominations and remains a landmark work in contemporary British theatre.
We are thrilled to see this powerful and deeply resonant play return to the stage and look forward to audiences experiencing Natasha’s extraordinary writing once again.
Further information about the production can be found via the Kiln Theatre Website.
Agency Client Natasha Gordon is represented by Katie Haines.
