Alice Burden is a writer based in St-Leonards-on-Sea, working on projects for screen and the literary marketplace.

Alice’s TV drama pilot OXYTOCIN was shortlisted for the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course 2025/26 and she is currently taking part in the mentorship programme, mentored by Nancy Napper-Canter (Freedom Scripted).

She was a mentee on the 2024/25 Dancing Ledge ScreenSkills Screenwriting Mentorship scheme, mentored by Emilia di Girolamo.

Her original TV drama THE QUIET STONES, a supernatural drama, was developed with Studio 21 and Saffron Cherry. Various of her scripts have been recognised in competitions including ON SOLSTICE HILL (Finalist C21 Drama Series Script Competition), CLING FILM (BlueCat & Finish Line), REPORTS (Theatre Little Pieces of Gold), and HAVEN (BBC Wales & It’s My Shout).

Other writing work includes a regular column in a London newspaper and a novel, THE DEFINING ACT OF ALEXA DAVIES.

Alice’s writing has also been produced for radio, and her radio play, LOST IN FRANCE, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4’s Afternoon Drama series starring Sophie Thompson and Phyllida Law. It was an Observer pick and Radio Times pick, as well as being featured on Radio 4’s Pick of the Week.
