Helen Stephens is the award-winning illustrator of the titles including the HOW TO HIDE A LION series, FLEABAG, SAVING MR HOOT (Alison Green Books/Scholastic) and SMELLY PEGGY (Walker). She has written and illustrated many books for babies and toddlers for the Campbell/Macmillan list and picture books for Random House, Simon and Schuster, David Fickling Books, Nosy Crow and Egmont.

Her books have won many awards and been shortlisted for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal and The Red House Children’s Book Awards. HOW TO HIDE A LION has been adapted for stage by The Polka Theatre. Helen has also provided illustrations for TEN-WORD TINY TALES (Walker), written by Waterstones’ Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho, with each ten-word tale illustrated by a different incredible illustrator, and illustrated DREW, MOO AND BUNNY TOO  (Walker) written by Owen Sheers.

Helen’s latest series, SALTY DOG AND PALS (Walker), cowritten with Katie Chappell and illustrated by Helen, consists of four bright and happy stories exploring the warm, funny friendship dynamic between Salty Dog and his best friends Kitty and Bernard.
