Katharine McEwen’s first book was published whilst she was still studying at Kingston University. Since graduating, Kate has won many awards including the Bisto Children’s Book Award, The Children’s Book Award and the The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Award, and has been nominated for the Blue Peter Book Award twice.

Kate has illustrated many successful children’s books including The Woman Who Won Things & The Man Who Wore all His Clothes by Allan Ahlberg (Walker Books), Nat Fantastic by Giles Andreae (Orchard) and It Moved by Anne Fine. Kate’s work also includes Tigerbear written by Steve Webb (Andersen Press) and Titchy Witch by Rose Impey  (Hachette). She has also published her own title, Bear Hug (Templar).

Kate’s recent series, Who’s Hiding? published by Nosy Crow includes: Who’s Hiding on the River?, Who’s Hiding on the Farm?, Who’s Hiding in the Woods?, Who’s Hiding in the Jungle?, Who’s Hiding at the Seaside? and Who’s Hiding on Safari? and the most recent of the series, Who’s Hiding in the Desert?
