Catch Grace Knight’s provocative and gripping monologue GLOSS exploring the nature of consent as part of the third series of BREAK on BBC iPlayer now: BREAK
Gemma is a dedicated teacher whose life begins to fall apart when a young boy goes missing. Is she hiding something?
Grace is one of five writers who were selected by BBC Writersroom Scotland after a talent search that was launched last year together with The Comedy Unit, to bring their stories to the screen.
Anne Edyvean, head of BBCWritersroom, said: “The competition for the commissions was extremely strong as the quality of the scripts was so high. The brief was for funny, emotional or thought-provoking stories that reflect the diversity of contemporary Scotland. These monologues fit the bill perfectly, vividly telling the stories of a range of characters and we’re sure they’ll resonate with our audiences.”
Gavin Smith from The Comedy Unit, based in Glasgow, produced the five monologues saying:
“There’s nothing more exciting than working with passionate new writers and their scripts are all fresh, distinct, powerful and surprising in their content. It’s a privilege to work with the Writersroom and together transfer these talented individuals’ voices to the screen.”
